Can I file a comlpaint against my landlord for personal injury?

I was walking down the stairs leading to the laundry room and slipped on some water on the stairs. Fell and severely sprained my ankle and broke my foot. Can I file a complaint against my landlord for personal injury?

You can file; however if the landlord didn't have any notice of the dangerous situation (water on the stairs) or you can't prove that s/he did you might not prevail. You should also check your lease for any provisions that attempt to reduce any liability. Also, if you haven't done so already, you should put your landlord on notice that you were injured by slipping on the stairs.
