Can I sue the hotel for my back injury?

I am looking for a personal injury lawyer to represent me in the case of a back injury. I was working for a health care facility and I ended up with a back injury. I was told by a back specialist that I may need surgery on my back. I have been off work for about a year now and don't know if I can collect from the job workers compensation. I was terminated without cause because it was too long of a period away from work. I still get unemployment at this time but it's about to run out. There is also another issue or incident which involves a stay at a hotel. This is when I found out I had the back problem. I left work to visit family in Joliet and the next day I awoke with a back problem. I could barely move or get out of bed. I finally got to my feet and it was hard for me to walk to the rest room. I heard the manager state that he contributed to my back problem. So I don't know if I have a claim. I'm hoping I do. Can I sue the hotel for my back injury?
